[edit] It's MARVELOUS! It's TERRIFIC!! Superlatives can not cover my feelings!

I've just expanded the stub that was here. I've tried to be encyclopedic about it, but that was rather difficult. I've spent several months on nature tracks (if I add it all up), almost half of which in tropical rainforests. But in the four days I spent in this park I've just about doubled my number of animal sightings. I had run into peccaries before in the Peten in Guatemala, which I thought was one of my most impressive nature sightings (they're pretty dangerous if provoked) but here I ran into two big groups in just four days. Normally one can count oneself lucky to see one sizeable animal per day when going deep into a forest (I know - I've crossed Borneo and talked to many others with similar experiences) but here I ran into one animal after the other! One may get lucky, but four days in a row? This park is absolutely fantastic! There, now I've said what I couldn't in the article :) .

By the way, I normally use bold type, capitalisation and exclamation marks very sparsely, but here I just couldn't help myself. DirkvdM 19:31, 18 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Other ways to get to Corcovado

I think it's a lot easier to get to Corcovado via boat, you know if you're not into fording rivers and that kind of stuff. If someone feels like writing about that be my guest.

You can also fly in, as the article states - there's a (grassy) airstrip at Estación Sirena. I haven't heard of boats going there, but it wouldn't surprise me. DirkvdM 09:05, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Size

The original text stated that the park "encompasses an area of 54,538 terrestrial hectares and 2,400 marine hectares". Bobblewik changed that to "a land area of 545.38 km² and a marine area of 24 km²" (which, I assume, is a calculation based on those figures). But I looked it up and two sources gave 41788 hectares and 42469 hectares. So I changed it to 420 km². Revert me if I'm wrong :) . DirkvdM 07:53, 19 September 2005 (UTC)
