Victor Baxter (Rondell Sheridan) gets a job as the personal chef to the President of the United States and, with daughter Raven in college and wife Tanya continuing law school in England, he and his son Cory (Kyle Massey) pack up and move to the White House in Washington, D.C.. There, Cory has to deal with adjusting to a new life at a stuffy prep school while Victor attempts to deal with the pressures of working for the most powerful man in America. The newly elected president is Richard Martinez.

  • The show was originally set to premiere November 10, 2006; however, according to Kyle Massey on Disney 365 , it is set to air on January 12, 2007.
  • This is the first live-action show to premiere in January on Disney Channel since the show's parent, That's So Raven.
  • Its set premiere date is the same day That's So Raven has its series finale.
  • It's set to premiere the week before the fifth anniversary of That's So Raven
  • The first promo for the show aired November 10, 2006, the same as the originally planned airdate.
  • The theme song plays on its official website. Pictures of cast mates are also shown.
  • Just like Raven, Cory will have two best friends (one of each gender): Meena Parook and Newton Livingston.
  • This is the first spin-off of any show in the history of Disney Channel.

The show is created by Marc Warren and Dennis Rinsler who are also currently the executive producers of That's So Raven.

For the roles of Meena Parook and Newton 'Newt' Livingstone, many children from countries including Australia and New Zealand were auditioned.

Cory in the House began filming on July 18, 2006 at Hollywood Center Studios (where The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and That's So Raven are filmed), meaning it will have a studio audience. (Source)
