Cory Smith

Cory Smith was a fictional character in the short-lived situation comedy, E/R. She was played by comic actress Corinne Bohrer.

Cory was the constantly confused floater nurse at Clark Street Hospital, a fictional hospital on the North Side of Chicago, Illinois. Cory was usually stationed in the Hospital's pediatrics unit, where she was great with the children. However, when situations arose, which was often, she was sent to help out in the emergency room.

It was while she made appearances in the ER that she met Howard Sheinfeld, whom she immediately had a crush on. The affection wasn't reciprocated, but Howard and Cory were good friends and colleagues. Because Howard had been divorced twice, his faith in marriage and long-term relationships had been soured. Cory had hoped to turn that around.

Cory was also friends with the other members of the ER staff, mostly Joan Thor, the head nurse.
