[edit] Biography

Cory Quirino is the third child of Tommy Quirino and Nena Rastrolio. She is also the granddaughter of the late Philippine president Elpidio Quirino.[1]

She began her broadcasting career in the 1980s when she hosted the late-night talk show Oh No, It's Johnny! for the Philippine TV network RPN (Radio Philippines Network). Eventually, she would host her own show Citiline, a weekly travel and fitness show that aired on Studio 23 (a subsidiary of the ABS-CBN network).

It was during an out-of-town shoot for Citiline that Cory Quirino and her entourage were abducted by bandits. This incident was chronicled in Cory Quirino's inspirational book Waiting for the Light[2] as well as the movie The Cory Quirino Kidnap: NBI Files which stars Ara Mina and Alessandra de Rossi. Cory Quirino survived the ordeal relatively unscathed and she would return to TV hosting. Citiline would eventually be re-titled The Good Life with Cory Quirino.[3]

Besides Waiting for the Light, Cory Quirino wrote a series of books titled Forever Young.[4] These books feature beauty and health tips as well as Cory Quirino's workout programs. She also made a fitness video titled Cory Quirino’s Celebrity Workout for Beginners.

These days, Cory Quirino can be heard on the Philippine AM radio station DZMM every Sunday at 6:00 P.M. where she hosts Ma-Beauty Po Naman.[5] Cory Quirino's health and fitness column Inside Out is currently published by Philippine Daily Inquirer in their newspaper and on their website.[6]
