Cory Cudney

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Cory Cudney (b. 1977) is a tattoo artist currently based in Buffalo, New York who specializes in hyperrealism in the forms of horror films and pin-up girls.

Cudney has worked in a variety of tattoo shops throughout his career--Inkaholics, Psycho Tattoo, Renaissance Tattoo, and most recently, Divine Machines. As a result, he has travelled broadly while observing and learning from some of the biggest names in the industry. For example, during an interview with Skin & Ink in 2003, Cudney stated that many of his suspecions concerning the craft were confirmed after watching Eric Merrill tattoo for five minutes.

Hyperreal peers include Bob Tyrrell, Robert Hernandez, and Deano Cook, among others.

He briefly attended college in Pittsburgh with the intention of becoming an F/X artist prior to resigning in 1996 and training as a professional tattoo artist.

He is a divorcee with no children. He is also an avid horror movie fan, especially of the zombie genre (rumors support a tentative film project between Cudney and Paul Booth of Last Rites Tattoo in New York). Cudney is also an outspoken advocate of the works of H. P. Lovecraft.
