Corwen railway station

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Corwen railway station in Denbighshire, Wales, was formerly a station on the Ruabon to Barmouth line. It closed to passengers on Monday 18th January 1965.

Corwen was also formerly the southern terminus of the Denbigh, Ruthin and Corwen Railway which ran from Rhyl to Corwen via Denbigh and Ruthin until its closure in 1963.

The preserved Llangollen Railway is currently (2006) constructing an extension to Corwen. Reopening of the station will require construction of a new station building as the original is in private use.
