The former name of the hilltown in Tuscany, currently Pienza, of where Pope Pius II (Aeneas Silvio Piccolomini) was born and raised. Pius had the town renamed after he had Florentine architect Bernardo Gambarelli (known as Rossellino) under the guidance of Leon Battista Alberti re-design the town square.
