Corpus Christi Priory

Corpus Christi Priory is a Roman Catholic Premonstratensian monastery and basilica in Miles Platting, Manchester, England. Served by Premonstratensian (Norbertine) canons since 1889, it became an independent canonry in 2004. It is planned to build a new monastery on the former school site behind the Basilica.
[edit] Archconfraternity of the Mass of Reparation
The basilica is dedicated to the Blessed Sacrament (Corpus Christi) and under the patronage of St. Norbert and St. Juliana: two saints who, in Roman Catholic belief, are examples of zealous devotion to the Blessed Sacrament.
In accordance with this, the community began the Archconfraternity of the Mass of Reparation. The fraternity's aim was "to inspire devotion to the Blessed Sacrament to make reparation for all those who neglect or insult the presence of Christ in this most holy sacrament".
On May 17, 1904, Pope Pius X bestowed his apostolic blessing on the building of the Votive Basilica as the centre of the Archconfraternity and in 1907 he presented the basilica with a chalice, through his representative at the Eucharistic Congress in London.
