Corporate lawyer

Corporate lawyer. A lawyer who represents a corporation in court trials or who provides legal advice to a corporation. Because of the large-scale nature of the work, corporate lawyers almost invariably belong to firms consisting of many partners and lawyers.

"Corporate lawyer" can also more specifically refer to a lawyer working on transactions that specifically relate to the ownership and structure of companies, such as mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, corporate recovery and private equity acquisitions.
