Cornuta (elm cultivar)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Wych Elm U. glabra cultivar Cornuta is a little-known tree distinguished only by the one or two cusp-like lobes either side of the apex of the leaf on strong-growing shoots, similar to Ulmus laciniata. A specimen is grown in the NCCPG elm collection maintained by Brighton & Hove City Council in England. Another was grown at the National Botanic Garden [1] in Belgium, which had obtained 35 m in height by 1987; it is not known whether this tree still exists. In North America, it is represented by a single specimen growing at the Dominion Arboretum in Canada.
