[edit] Plot
The episode opens where the previous season ended. Nancy is still in shock from having just discovered that Peter is a DEA agent. She gets back into bed, but the next morning she confesses that she found his jacket and gun. Peter tells her that his job is mostly a desk job, and she's not in danger. Nancy pretends she is just scared of guns, and hurries home.
When she arrives, both Shane and Silas are annoyed and upset, respectively, that she wasn't home at night. Shane woke up and was scared. Silas has taken to calling his mother "Nancy," and has had Megan sleep over. The dishwasher is broken, but Lupita uses her knowledge of Nancy's business to blackmail her into getting it fixed, rather than forcing Lupita to wash by hand. Peter sends flowers to Nancy's house.
Celia and Isabelle are in the car at an intersection that Celia feels desperately needs a traffic light. Isabelle attempts to eat something from the groceries, and the two start battling over the food. While distracted, another car plows into the side of Celia's. No one is injured, but the maid who was driving the car is scared that her mistress is going to make her sleep with the corn snake. When Celia turns her back, the maid drives off without leaving her details.
Conrad and Nancy are having coffee at the bakery while Sanjay unloads some supplies. Conrad tells Nancy about his childhood, living with Heylia instead of his mother. Nancy needs money for their grow house, and is considering burning down the bakery. Conrad tells her that she won't get away with arson for the sake of insurance fraud.
Nancy confesses, abruptly, that she slept with a DEA agent. Conrad freaks out and tells her that, if the guy doesn't know, he will know. He tells her to stay away from him and Heylia. Nancy suspects that Conrad is angry not because of what Peter is, but because she slept with someone who wasn't Conrad. He tells her that that is not the problem.
Celia goes to the city council to demand a traffic light at the intersection. Doug is unsympathetic, informing her that the budget has already been spent on the new town slogan and the council's kitchen. Celia is outraged.
Joining Nancy for coffee - which Celia spikes with Jack Daniels - Celia thinks that they both need to get laid. Nancy flippantly suggests that Celia run for city council. Celia, however, seriously takes up the idea, and decides to run for Doug's seat, which is up this year.
Andy is signing up for Rabbinical school, to get out of going to Iraq. He flirts with the Yael who interviews him, and she turns him away. But when he begs her, telling her that it is a matter of life and death, she gives him a second chance to explain his case.
Nancy goes to Heylia's house. Conrad is out getting a breast pump for Vaneeta. Heylia is enjoying having a grandchild. When Conrad gets back, he is upset to see Nancy there but can't explain why, since it will reveal his secret business.
Celia is working with Pam to come up with a campaign slogan. Dean arrives home and tells her that he resigned as Doug's campaign manager to be her's. Celia, however, doesn't want him, and nor does she want Pam. Doug arrives, angrily, and confronts Celia. She tells him that - if he had let her have the traffic light - she wouldn't be running. Dean asks to be Doug's campaign manager again, but Doug turns him down as well.
Nancy arrives home and forces Shane, Silas and Andy to sit down for a family dinner. The meal is interrupted, however, by a phone call from Sanjay. The bakery is burning down.
Andy and Nancy rush to the bakery, where the fire marshall tells them that the building is destroyed, but their insurance should cover the incompetence of Sanjay. As Nancy looks over, Sanjay gives her a sly smile: he burnt it down on purpose.
