Cork North Central (Dáil Éireann constituency)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Cork North Central is a constituency represented in Dáil Éireann, the lower house of the Irish parliament or Oireachtas. The constituency has an electorate of 79,063 and at present is served by 5 Teachtaí Dála (TDs). The method of election is the Single Transferable Vote.
The constituency is made up of the electoral areas of Cork City Council north of the river Lee, namely Cork North Central, Cork North East and Cork North West, and much of the Blarney electoral area of Cork County Council. Due to population decline in some parts the constituency is due to become a four seater at the next general election.
