Corey Brewer

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Corey Brewer is the starting guard/forward for the 2006 men's Florida Gators basketball team, which won the 2006 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament on April 3, 2006, as well as the 2006 SEC Tournament. He was projected by ESPN.com's Chad Ford to be a lottery to mid-first round pick in the 2006 NBA Draft if he had entered the draft.[1] However, Brewer, along with teammates Joakim Noah and Al Horford announced at the championship pep rally that they will indeed be returning for their junior season.[2]

Corey stands 6'8" and weighs 185 lbs. This lanky forward loves to penetrate to hoop, take mid-range shots, and is a deadly spot shooter from behind the arch. He is very quick but lacks the mass to post-up or drive through players. He loves to steal the ball with his long arms and is a constant 'blind' threat. He is known to be tenacious in his defense. His mobility and length allow him to steal passes or free the ball during his opponent's dribble.

Corey attended Portland High School in Portland, Tennessee where he was named a McDonald's All American in his senior year. He averaged 29.4 points and 12.8 rebounds a game his senior year.
