Cora Sandel, née Sara Fabricius (December 20, 1880 - 1974) was a Norwegian writer who lived most of her life abroad, in France and Sweden.
She was born in Kristiania (Oslo), but moved with her family to Tromsø when she was 12 years old. She later moved to Paris as a young girl, where she started painting. At the age of 21 she moved to Sweden.
In her youth she tried, without much success, to establish herself as a painter. And it wasn't until she was 46 years old that her debut novel, Alberte and Jakob was published.
Sandel used many elements from her own life and experiences in her authorship.
