My name is James Copeland and I am a mechanical engineer working in Memphis, Tennessee, USA. During my working career of 30+ years, I spent the first 4 years in designing and maintaining facilities at a synthetic textile fibers plant. Later I managed maintenance at a toy manufacturing company for 3 years. Next I managed maintenance, plant operations and bio-med maintenance at a 500+ bed hospital. Then I worked for a building controls contractor. I am currently working in maintenance engineering for an airline.

I am a member of the American Society of Heating Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers and am serving at the local Chapter President.

I am registered to practice engineering in Tennessee and Mississippi. I am licensed with the State of Tennessee as a "Responsible Managing Employee" for TN Fire Protection Sprinkler Systems.

I have a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Arkansas, 1973, and a Masters Degree in Public Administration from the University of Memphis, 1987.
