Problem

An article is incomplete or poorly written.

Important note: Wikipedia's articles are edited by volunteer Internet users. What they state is not the official point of view of the Wikimedia Foundation. The Wikimedia Foundation does not have paid editor staff and cannot process requests for better articles or article submissions.

Solution

Wikipedia is a wiki, so you can correct the error yourself!

  • Go to the article and click edit this page near the top.
Never edited before? Read the Introduction to Wikipedia. Please provide an "edit summary" such as "removed counterfactual information without sources".

Want help with fixing it?

  • Leave a message on the article's talk page; accessed by clicking the "discussion" tab when viewing the page.
This is like a message board about the article. Click the "+" tab to post a new message, and sign it by entering four tildes (~~~~). (If you have trouble writing tildes with the keyboard, click the signature button.)

Don't feel competent? No time?

  • Usually, a simple Internet search will provide you with information written by experts on almost any topic. A good way to find articles written by experts is to go to government or academic websites.
  • In case the Wikipedia article is in embarrassingly bad shape and you don't have time to improve it, you can add "{{cleanup}}" (without the quotes) at the beginning of the article. This may be a good idea if there is no recent activity on the talk page.
  • In case you have trouble typing braces on an international keyboard (usually done by holding down AltGr while typing the keys you see the "{" and "}" signs on), you can also just add the bad article to the list on the Wikipedia:Cleanup page.
