I'm a High Function Austics that crosses over into Asperger's syndrom about 50%. I did have childhood language delay though.

I think the general shielding/isolation/pampering of significantly disabled people help make them more disabled because of spoilage and low expectations and isolation from reality. I do consider autism a disability/desease because most of HFA are on welfare (and some AS), and defintly all LFA (if they are not in an instaitution) because they can't keep a job or have a lot of difficulty in getting one.
