[edit] About the Editing

I'm one of the authors of an article. But I'm not sure why it has to make "merge"? And if any problem, tell me.^^--HydrogenSu 12:51, 24 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Merge

Of course, there should be a merge between Control Volume and Control volume. CyrilleDunant 17:34, 31 December 2005 (UTC)

I agree; I'll do a quick merge.--Sadi Carnot 22:24, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] More than just for Fluid Mechanics

Control volumes are also used in Heat Transfer. Chrike 01:43, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Definition

I have a problem with the statement: "Generally, a control volume can be thought of as an arbitrary volume in which the mass of fluid remains constant. As fluid moves, this implies that the shape of a control volume is varying with time." A control volume is an open system which is allowed to exchange matter with its surroundings. If the control volume is assumed to be in steady state, it will have a constant mass, but only in that case. What is the source for this claim?
