...that there's a huge honking error in the book. (Spoilers below) / / / / / / / / Grandmaster's team and Death's team actually capture two quarters apiece, but for some reason the text after the final globe is captured puts the Grandmaster ahead 3-1. That's why he's the Grandmaster, I guess!
