I heard Connie Stevens sing WHERE THE BOYS ARE on the radio the other day. It reminded me of what a great voice she had. I vaguely remember hearing that she was violently assaulted and/or raped in a hotel during her career. I vaguely remember that she sued Holiday Inn or Howard Johnson's in relation to the crime. None of the biographiies that I can find on the internet make any mention of the assault. I think she was very badly hurt in the crime. Does anyone else remember anything like this about Connie?

Well, it's been over a year since the above was written and nobody else has tried to enlighten this poor person!

Connie Stevens didn't sing "Where the Boys are", Connie Francis did. Connie Steven's musical claim to fame was 16 Reasons and Kookie, Kookie, lend me your comb, with Edd "Kookie" Byrnes. She played 'Cricket Blake' on Hawaiian Eye and has numerous film and tv credits to her long career, not to mention her night club dates.

It was Connie Francis, not Stevens who was accosted and raped in her hotel room, unfortunately, you don't hear much about Connie Francis these days, but, boy, she sure could sing!

[edit] Connie Stevens real surname

A google search revealed to me that her real surname is more likely to be INGOLIA, rather than 'Ingoglia' as written in the main article. Can anyone enlighten us further ?
