Conte Giorgio Magro

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Conte Giorgio Magro was born to a landed gentry family of Malta. In his youth, Magro's parents sent him off to the Papal States to join the army as many of the well-to-do families did at this time in an attempt to gain fame and fortune for their lineage.

Magro rose through the ranks of the Papal Army and retired as a Captain and was made aCount in 1730 by the Pope.

Giorgio Magro married Caterina di Susa, the illegitimate daughter of the Marchese di Susa. His children would later marry into Southern Italian and Maltese nobility.
