Constitution Plaza is a large pedestrian plaza in Hartford completed in the early 1960s, spearheaded by a committee of corporate leaders [1]. It connects three city blocks in Hartford and surrounds many buildings, including the The Pheonix Insurance building, Traveler's Insurance building and WFSB Channel 3 Eyewitness News. The plaza occasionally finds itself home to festivals including the Taste of Hartford.

Because of the Riverfront Recapture initiative, it has been extended to the riverfront through a pedestrian plaza that extends over Interstate 91 to a concert area along the Connecticut River and then across the river to East Hartford.
