Consolidated A-11
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The A-11 was an attack version of the 1930s Consolidated Y1P-25. It was the first USAAC attack aircraft fitted with retractable landing gear.
Only four XA-11s were built, as the USAAC preferred radial engines for attack aircraft.
One XA-11 was modified as a testbed for the Allison V-1710 engine under the XA-11A designation.
