[edit] Web Design

As a web designer for White Wolf, Conrad Hubbard led the production of the largest text-based online chat game set in the World of Darkness, fictional New Bremen, Georgia. Reports of the user population of the fictional New Bremen varied, but White Wolf reported that the chat game had more than 5,000 sanctioned characters at any time, all sharing the same game environment. The New Bremen chat used off the shelf software called Digichat, supplemented with a database that stored characters and the Storytellers approvals thereof and notes pertaining to them. While not everyone approved of the chat's structure, it has been copied and expanded upon by numerous World of Darkness fan sites since its inception.

New Bremen proved successful enough that White Wolf has opened multiple roleplaying game chat settings using a similar model. Logins for these can be readily found at http://www.white-wolf.com/chat/

The current roster of moderated White Wolf RPG Chat settings includes:

  • World of Darkness: Chicago (for a mixed venue)
  • City of the Damned: New Orleans (for Vampire: The Requiem)
  • Hunting Grounds: The Rockies (for Werewolf: The Forsaken)
  • Boston Unveiled (for Mage: The Awakening)
  • Nexus (mixed venue Exalted Second Edition)
  • The Blessed Isle (Dragon-Blooded Exalted Second Edition chronicle)
  • Jade City (mixed venue Exalted First Edition)

Additionally, White Wolf hosts an unmoderated chat room area, where people join together to run their own roleplaying games using the same software and database design as the moderated rooms.

[edit] Poetry

Conrad Hubbard is also a poet, although not one who is well known. He hosts a body of over 200 poems in an online "poetry scrapbook" called Pathos. He won poetry awards from the Richmond Area Reading Council two years in a row during high school. For a period of time he participated in the live poetry scene of Richmond, Virginia with a group which called itself "Blue Light Poetry Night". When that group lost its host location, they moved to the Shockoe Bottom area night club After Six.
