[edit] Career Aspirations
Connie is highly ambitious and has shown herself to be willing to double cross her colleagues in order to advance her own agenda.
[edit] Major Incidents
Over the course of her time at the hospital, Connie's surgical skills and focus under pressure have made her a key player in various serious incidents. When a fuel tanker crashed into the hospital in Christmas 2004, she was forced to operate in difficult conditions and then escape the burning building with her patient and colleagues. Several months later she was forced to operate on her own Registrar, Will Curtis, when he was impaled by scaffolding knocked over by a car that was deliberately driven at him. Despite her best efforts, Will died on the operating table.
Christmas 2005 brought further disaster when a road tunnel collapsed trapping numerous people including hospital staff. Although at the hospital Christmas party, she was able to get through the resultant traffic jam and return to the hospital by having herself delivered as a parcel by motorcycle courier. Connie then helped treat the casualties. In summer 2006, she was involved in another disaster when a bomb went off at a formal diner she had been attending. Connie was herself the bomber's target as he was unhappy that she chose another patient instead of his fiance to receive a life-saving heart transplant. She sustained only minor injuries but was trapped with the bomber in the hotel kitchen and she ended up treating his injuries.
[edit] Personal Life
Connie Beauchamp is married to Michael Beauchamp. Despite this she has shown a predatory attitude towards a number of male doctors at Holby City. On her first day at the hospital she seduced fellow Consultant Ric Griffin and they had sex in his office. She later seduced Obstetrics Registrar Mubbs Hussein and the two met regularly for sex. She showed no hesitation in revealing their affair to nurse Rosie Satar with whom Mubbs had hoped to pursue a relationship. When he threatened to retaliate by informing her husband, she passed him her mobile phone and dialed Michael's number. Mubbs got cold feet and simply hung up the phone. Connie also seduced her own Registrar Will Curtis at a party but pulled away after kissing him passionately, stating that she had only wanted to prove that he was unable to resist her.
Michael Beauchamp became the chairman of the board of trustees at Holby City. Although loyal to his wife for most of his time in this position he eventually betrayed her and forced her resignation from the job of Medical Director in order to cover his role in an outbreak of the superbug VRSA at the hospital. She discovered him kissing nurse Chrissie Williams in her office and was humiliated by his affair with her (which she begged him to keep private). She ultimately played a crucial part in exposing him, leading to his arrest for fraud and manslaughter. She then decided to divorce him.
Connie showed little interests in others until Michael's eventual release from prison following his appeal against sentence. Although tempted by his offer to join him working at a hospital in Scandinavia where they could put the past behind them, she was persuaded by Elliot Hope to remain at Holby City. This seemed to mark a permanent end to their relationship. She then pursued a covert relationship with another of her Registrars, Sam Stracham. Connie has recently discovered that she is pregnant.
