[edit] History
Route 361 was originally part of Route 4. Route 4 was shortened in 1967 to end at Route 41. The section west of Route 41 was renumbered to Route 361 to match the highway numbering in New York state. New York State Route 361 has since been decommissioned and turned over to county maintenance (as Dutchess County Route 62).
