Route 34 is a state highway in the U.S. state of Connecticut. Route 34 is 24.37 miles long, and extends westward from its start at the interchange with I-95 and I-91 in New Haven to Washington Street near I-84 in Newtown. It is a primary east-west state route connecting the New Haven and Danbury areas.
From its western terminus in Newtown, Route 34 begins as a 2-lane principal arterial road, expanding to a 4-lane divided highway in Derby at the junction with Route 8. Near its eastern terminus in New Haven, it briefly becomes a 6-lane/8-lane freeway before terminating at the interchange with I-95 and I-91.

The eastbound section in New Haven running along Legion Avenue and South Frontage Road (1.03 miles) is town-maintained. The corresponding westbound section along North Frontage Road is officially designated as SR 706 but is signed as Route 34 West.
