Connecticut Green Party
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A unity of local Green Party chapters, the Connecticut Green Party is committed to grassroots democracy, social justice, non-violence and ecological wisdom. Those are also the four pillars of Green politics. Perhaps, the most well known Green Party figure in the United States, Ralph Nader is from Connecticut. For the 2006 election year, the Connecticut Green Party has endorsed Cliff Thornton to run for Governor, Ralph Ferrucci to run for U.S. Senate. They have also endorsed Daniel Sumrall and Richard Duffee to run for Congress in the 3rd and 4th districts respectively.
[edit] Ballot Access
On August 9, 2006, the Connecticut Greens submitted 13,000 signatures to complete their state-wide petition drive for ballot access. Only 7,500 signatures were needed by 4 pm on Wednesday, but the party presented 13,000 as a buffer in case of any errors.
