"Confessions of a Broken Heart (Daughter to Father)" is a dramatic, piano-driven song produced by Greg Wells and Kara DioGuardi for A Little More Personal (Raw), the second album by American actress and singer Lindsay Lohan. It was released as the album's first single, and radio and video promotion began in October 2005. While three singles had been released from her debut album, Speak (2004), "Confessions" was the first to make an appearance on the Billboard Hot 100. The song made its début at #66, peaking at #57.

[edit] Music video
The song's music video, filmed on 26th street in New York City, features scenes from Lohan's childhood, depicting her father's drunkenness and family abuse. Lohan directed the video; though she called the shoot a difficult and emotional one, Lohan says she received the support of the cast and crew and she was able to complete the video.
In some scenes, Lohan hides in the bathroom as her parents argue in the living room, while her alter-ego (portrayed by her sister, Aliana) goes into her bedroom and suffers after coming home from ballet class.
As Lohan stands in an expensive gown (depicting glamour) behind a huge, plate-glass department store window (signifying her life on display for the public), photographs of memories fly up onto the glass, from which she breaks out. Lohan initially wanted to break the glass "wall" herself, but the explosion of glass was added digitally to prevent injuries.
