The Con Rit (Cetioscolopendra aeliani) is a cryptid that is reported to live in south east Asia. It is said to be a large aquatic centipede-like creature with a segmented body that produces a metallic sound when tapped, much like that of the horseshoe crab.
Some say that it is a mammal, while others believe it is an arthropod. There are occasional reports of it being washed ashore as a globster, but hardly ever sightings of live ones.[citation needed]
It has been suggested that it served as the basis for oriental dragon myths.[citation needed]
