Wikipedia:Compromise Committee

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The following is a proposed Wikipedia policy, guideline, or process. The proposal may still be in development, under discussion, or in the process of gathering consensus for adoption (which is not achieved through simple majority voting). References or links to this page should not describe it as "policy".

The Compromise Committee would be a committee, of users that help with WP disputes, like the mediation committee and the mediation cabal. Unlike the Med.Com, this group can take issues without all parties agreeing and is used to help speed up the process of consensus.

[edit] Composition

It would consist of five (elected) members to each serve as follows:

Seats 1, 2, 3: six months, then 9 months

Seats 4: 9 months then 9 months

Seat 5: 1 year, and 1 year

So if it started on January 1, 2007:

Jan 1: Seats 1,2,3,4,5 up

June 1: Seats 1,2,3 up until Jan 08

Sep 1: Seat 4 up until June 08

Jan 1, 08: Seat 1,2,3,5 up

[edit] Appeals

This Committee would handle appeals from the MedCabal and then proceed here.

[edit] Cases

All cases sumbitted to the CC would have to recieve at least one member's consent for the full committee to hear the case.
