[edit] My shorthand abbreviations
People have asked what "UE, D" and other abbreviations mean. For a list of some of the official shorthand terminology used on Wikipedia, pease refer to WP:IFD#Listing_images_and_media_for_deletion. "NN, D", which is not listed on WP:IFD, means "Not notable, delete." ComCat 02:21, 16 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Cruft
Are you making a list of these? It's gotten to the point of being silly. -- Cyrius|✎ 05:57, 25 Mar 2005 (UTC)
[edit] VfD on Afrophobia
Hi!
I just wanted to announce that I've overhauled the afrophobia article, and we're brainstorming future additions on its talk page. Some Wikipedians have changed their votes after seeing the revamped article. Binadot 07:45, 29 Mar 2005 (UTC)
[edit] VfD
A little word of advice: I would try to do some research on the people or things before placing them on VfD. There were some, like SUDAAN, that are very notable. And others, like Trudy LeCaine, is a mispelling. Just becareful man next time. Zscout370 (Sound Off) 00:10, 20 July 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Big list of VfDs
Hi, I noticed that you listed a lot of pages for VfD, but it doesn't look like you're doing much research on these. The VfD process is difficult as it is. I never make it through all of them, and some require far more attention than others. You've listed articles including an Order of Canada recipient and a software package that gets 15,900 hits on Google. Please, if you're going to put things up for VfD, try to do a little bit more research up-front and describe why it is that you think the article meets the criteria for deletion. Thank you, and happy editing! -Harmil 00:11, 20 July 2005 (UTC)
[edit] VFD
Hi there! You seem to be cleaning out a lot of the dust and grub from corners of Wikipedia. I think that's a good effort. However, could you please make your VFD nominations a bit more explanatory than the text "NN. D."? Just a short phrase will help people determine what it's about and whether or not it's in their area(s) of expertise. Thanks. Radiant_>|< 12:18, July 21, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Carlos Lozada
How's this for Non Notable? [1] and [2]. As an administrator, I dont think that you do your research too well. Marine 69-71 has been with us for a while and I have observed his work and he is definitely not a bogus article writer. You can ask any other respectable administrators as well, such as Mav. Like others said above, do your resarch.... Antonio Coffee Martin
- Please don't make personal attacks. If you think the subject is notable enough for this encyclopedia then you can vote to keep it. ComCat 00:39, 3 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Hermann Bauer
Please do your research more carefully before bulk flagging of articles. A simple google search[3] combined with the list of pages that link to Hermann Bauer (Special:Whatlinkshere/Hermann Bauer) is not empty would seem to indicate that this is notable.
Nevertheless, I've fleshed out the page, but please be a little more restrained in your use of the VfD, and explain your reasons more fully -- Kaszeta 14:11, 3 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Request for Comment
Due to your repeated questionable VfD edits, I've open a Request for Comment at Wikipedia:Requests for comment/ComCat. I encourage you to visit this page and present your side. -- Kaszeta 03:24, 4 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Carlos Lozada
You have gone too far. I suggest as the others have that you show the Wiki community some respect and that you do some research and read Wikipedia:Deletion policy before you nominate any article for deletion. Please answer the comments at: Wikipedia:Requests for comment/ComCat. Otherwise, your nominations may be considered as "bogus" and your postings removed. Tony the Marine 17:06, August 4, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Spooky Kid VfD
I redirected to Mall_Goth seeing as how there was a year old merger suggestion and to be honest the spooky kid article was crap. I hope you find this is a better solution than deleting the entry.--Pypex 18:08, 5 October 2005 (UTC)
- The Mall Goth article is borderline as well, but my main concern is that "Spooky Kid" is complete made up nonsense; is this term actually used? ComCat 01:50, 7 October 2005 (UTC)
-
- At the end of the day someone thought it needed an entry, and there is absolutely no harm in the article remaining. Think of how much less server time is used by a redirect than by having to run a full blown search. As for weather or not the term is in use theres not really much of a argument to be had, how many people have to claim the term is in use before deletionists are satisfied. If someone created the article its a safe assumption that the term is in use.--Pypex 18:42, 9 October 2005 (UTC)
- Sorry for the intrusion, ended up here randomly but the Spooky Kids were Marilyn Manson's backing band at the beginning and they were called Marilyn Manson & the Spooky Kids. Jobe6 Image:Peru flag large.png 20:32, 20 October 2005 (UTC)
- I'm sorry I redirected it then. You should go and put you fount of Spooky Kid knowledge to good use on the article (even if only to change the redirection target.) I'm sure even MM will be seen as none notable by some wikipedians. I'm currently defending the article I merged with Mall Goth from a vfd but I think I'm on my own.--Pypex 00:27, 21 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nominations
Hi there, I noticed you'd created a lot of AfD nominations today for a wide variety of articles, giving no justification as to why they should be deleted other than 'NN, D'. Now, this is not very useful, and mass-nominations like this can only serve to further clutter the already-troubled AfD process. You might want to have a look at Wikipedia:Guide to deletion, and put just a little bit more effort into your next nomination. Thanks. :) - ulayiti (talk) 19:04, 26 October 2005 (UTC)
- I regularly nominate articles with the words "Not notable, Delete." so I don't see what all the fuss is about. There would be no ruckus if people would simply come, make their points in a civil manner, and move on. To me, while your actions may be a bit intemperate considering the existing RfC, they aren't disruption. - brenneman(t)(c) 08:42, 27 October 2005 (UTC)
- My complaint is that he does large swatchs of AfD nominations as "Non-notable", but in a (IMHO unsatisfactorily large) fraction of the articles, a simple Google search and a check of pages linking to the page being recommended for deletion show that the article clearly has at least some notability. Calling for an AfD vote on pages just because ComCat has "never heard of them" or thinks they are "complete made up nonsense" shows that he needs to do at least some cursory research and show some restraint. Hence the RFC. -- Kaszeta 13:16, 27 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] RFC
Please add your view to Wikipedia:Requests for comment/ComCat. Sjakkalle (Check!) 15:29, 7 November 2005 (UTC)
He obviously doesn't care that there is an RFC against him. It's been 4 months since it was started and he's said nary a peep. Frankly we might was well have his RFC closed as the whole point is to engender discussion with the user... and he obviously doesn't think it's worth his time to discuss it further (and honestly I'm not convinced he has any reason to discuss any of this as other users have pointed out Non-Notability is a reasonable reason for deletion).Gateman1997 20:52, 7 November 2005 (UTC)- I think it may be too late for him. With his continued disruptive behavior it may be time for to bring this to arbitration.Gateman1997 19:51, 16 November 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Peter George Wellesley Graves, 8th Baron Graves
It turns out he was a film star. Please research your nominations. CalJW 01:39, 8 November 2005 (UTC)
- All of my nominations are researched. The original article did not convey any sort of notability, and now it does. This nomination has been withdrawn, thank you. ComCat 05:17, 10 November 2005 (UTC)
[edit] UE, D
Your use of cryptic language will win you no support among either new users or experienced users. If you respect the process, please take the time to make your intentions clear and provide a fully-formed reason for deletion. Denni☯ 03:28, 11 November 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Interested in a VFD?
May I bring your attention to a current work-in-progress on cleaning up the 'blog' related cruft from wikipedia. The work area is at User:Timecop/The_war_on_blogs. Your voice in this matter is appreciated. Also feel free to edit and/or add any content to the above page. Thank you sir.
[edit] McMartin preschool
May I ask why you nominated McMartin preschool for deletion? It is so clearly notable that I cannot imagine why you would do so. -Willmcw 08:13, 16 November 2005 (UTC)
