Talk:Community informatics

Congratulations on initiating this article about community informatics for wikipedia.

I manage the Centre for Electronic Commerce and Communications (CECC) which operates as a business unit of University of Ballarat in Victoria, Australia. Through education, training research and consultancies CECC promotes the advancement of eCommerce, particularly in its practical application in regional and rural Australia (see our website for more...)

I am also in the final stages of my doctoral research which looks at the diffusion of ICT in the context of government funded initiatives in regional and rural Australia. It examines the impacts for regional and rural communities; explores whether ICT works in isolation from factors such as resources, clusters and leadership; and provides recommendations on the action governments and communities need to take to design, implement and sustain community ICT initiatives and/or to better achieve goals such as using ICT to support sustainable development of regional and rural communities.

Does this refer to De Digitale Stad- (http://www.dds.nl) or another activity? I'd be interested in a link to the reference. mgaved 10:11, 17 April 2006 (UTC)
