Complementors

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Complementors are companies that sell a product (or products) that complement the product of another company by adding value to them; for example, Intel & Microsoft (Pentium processors & Windows), Microsoft & McAfee (Microsoft Windows & McAfee anti-virus).

Complementors are sometimes called "The Sixth Force" (from Porter's Five Forces model), a term which was coined by Andrew Grove, former CEO of Intel.
