Community Medical Center is a hospital in the quickly growing Toms River Township, New Jersey. Originally the hospital was small, but recently was expanded. A five-level parking garage and a four-story section were added on. The hospital is currently undergoing another expansion as well. The Community Medical Center serves the entire Toms River area.
Opened in 1961, Community Medical Center is the largest non-teaching hospital in the state of New Jersey. The hospital is Ocean County’s largest and most active healthcare facility, attending to 28,000 inpatients, 127,700 outpatients and 91,900 emergency room patients each year.
The hospital has approximately 2,800 associates, 650 physicians on staff, and 1,700 volunteers Community Medical Center received its third Accreditation in 2002 from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
