There is one phone line for approximately every 100 people, leaving a total of 100,100 as of 2005. Mobile communications are improving though, because of the introduction of two wireless carriers into this developing country. There are approximately 1.2 Million cellular lines as of 2005. The international calling code for Afghanistan is +93. There are five VSAT's installed in Afghanistan, providing international and domestic voice and data connectivity.

Televisions are somewhat popular however, as there are approximately 100,000 televisions installed in Afghanistan as of 1999, with at least 10 television broadcast stations.

There are 23 FM stations broadcasting, 21 mediumwave stations, and 1 shortwave station.

Afghanistan has been seeing the turning point since 2001, with communication facility at its best at the moment.
Today Afghanistan is coming out to be the best oppourtunity for business communitity. At present there are 3 mobile operators who are doing best along with others.
Internet in Afghanistan is also at the peak. There are now approx 10 Internet Service Providers giving their services.
