Syconycteris australis or the common or Queensland Blossom-bat is a fruit bat in the family Pteropodidae. S.australis feeds mostly on nectar and pollen rather than fruit. They are only 60mm long, most likely to aid them in collecting pollen and nectar. S.australis change roosts daily as opposed to many of the larger species. It is one of eight Pteropodidae species in Australia.
