ComicView is a stand up comedy show (debuting in 1992) that airs on BET on Tuesdays and Fridays. The current host is Sheryl Underwood. The show has been the launching pad for such comedians as D.L. Hughley, Cedric the Entertainer, Sommore, Arnez J and Laura Hayes.
In the past five years, the show has moved to different cities such as Atlanta, Los Angeles, Miami and New Orleans. The episodes that are currently showing (as of February 2006) were filmed in New Orleans less than a month before Hurricane Katrina. Before the show aired, a message dedicating the show to the citizens of New Orleans.
Now episodes currently showing (as of June 2006) are Classic ComicView where they fuse clips from different shows of ComicView already aired.
