From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Comdial is a telecommunications company based in Sarasota, Florida.
Comdial designs and sells integrated communications systems designed to help small and midsized businesses move from traditional telephony to Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) platforms, although traditional key and PBX-type systems are available. Its SIP/VoIP products combine e-mail, voice, messaging, and the Internet. Comdial sells primarily through wholesalers in the US; Graybar Electric, Sprint North Supply, Tech Data, and ALLTEL's distribution arm are its primary customers. VARs, or "Value Added Resellers" are also outlets for Comdial's equipment. The company has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection as of May 2005. In September 2005, Comdial was acquired by Vertical Communications of Cambridge, Massachusetts.
