Columbia University Medical Center

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Columbia University Medical Center is the name of the medical complex associated with Columbia University, and is located at 630 West 168th Street, in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan. It is home to Columbia's College of Physicians and Surgeons, College of Dental Medicine, School of Nursing and Mailman School of Public Health.

Formerly known as the Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center (CPMC), the name change followed the 1997 formation of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, a merger of two medical centers each affiliated with an Ivy League university: CPMC and the New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center, home of Cornell University's Weill Cornell Medical College.
