Columbia College Hollywood, is a film school located in Tarzana, California, USA. It is a fully accredited educational institution. It has offered degrees (B.A. & A.A.) in film and television production for more than 52 years.

The school offers degrees in in three different areas: Television, Film and Combined (Television and Film).

The school offers degrees focusing on Directing, Writing, Producing, Cinematogrophy, Editing and Television.

Columbia College Hollywood owns film and video equipment available for use by its students in classroom projects. This equipment includes:

  • Camera Systems: Arriflex SRI and SRII, Bolex 16, Eclair 16 NPR, CP16
  • Digital Cameras: Canon XL2, XL1(S); Panasonic DVX100A with 4x4 matte box and follow focus; Sony VX2000; various miniDV cameras; professional SVHS camcorders and VHS camcorders.
  • Lighting Equipment: 1K, 2K, and 5K lights, fresnels, 1K open face and soft lights; two & three riser stands.
  • Grip Equipment: Fisher Dolly with track; c-stands; sandbags; apple boxes; flags & other grip items
  • Sound Equipment: Nagra 4.2 TC sound recorder; Smart Slate; Fostex DAT; Sony MiniDisc; shotgun and handheld microphones; XLR connectors; boom poles and Mackie mixers.
  • Editing Systems: 16mm moviolas and 16mm and 35mm flatbeds, AVID, Final Cut Pro, ProTools, After Effects and Photoshop suites.

There have been a number of successful students to attend Columbia College Hollywood. Most notable of these is probably Timothy Linh Bui director of the film Green Dragon and producer of Three Seasons, Wonderful Tonight, Inside Out, and My Name Is... .

Probably just as notable in recent years is Robert Schwentke director of the hit motion picture Flightplan.

Robert A. Ferretti -- editor of such films as Under Siege, Die Hard 2, and Halloween: Resurrection.

Ryan E. Heppe -- previously Head of Development at David Foster Productions on films such as Collateral Damage, Hart's War and The Core. He is currently set to direct the feature horror film Stalked [1] and produce (along with Foster) a remake of the 80's slasher film Silent Night, Deadly Night for New Line Cinema. He is also working with directing legend John Carpenter on an untitled horror project.

Haylee R. Twombly -- producer of television commercials and infomercials

J.D. Ligier -- a Television Editor and Unit Production Manager on many Hollywood features.

The school has also turned out dozens of other Hollywood professionals and teachers.
