Colquhoun

The Colquhoun family is a distinguished family of Scotland dating to the 10th century. The Colquhouns were located in Dumbartonshire (now Dunbartonshire) near Loch Lomond. See Clan Colquhoun.
In the 13th century, Humphry de Kilpatrick obtained a grant of lands and the barony of Colquhounin and assumed the name of Colquhoun.
Humphrey of Colquhoun received a charter from Robert Bruce. In the years 1390 to 1395, Sir Humphrey held the Charter.
In 1963, Mr. John Frederick Colquhoun of The Scout Association was awarded the Bronze Wolf, the only distinction of the World Organization of the Scout Movement, awarded by the World Scout Committee for exceptional services to world Scouting.
