Colorado Symphony Orchestra

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Colorado Symphony Orchestra (CSO) is the principal symphony orchestra for the Denver Metropolitan Area. The Colorado Symphony was founded in 1924 as the Denver Symphony Orchestra. The Denver Symphony, however, endured some financial difficulties in the late-1980s, and in 1989 it was replaced by the Colorado Symphony Orchestra. Marin Alsop had been its music director for much of the 1990s and 2000s. Currently, Jeffrey Kahane is the conductor for the Colorado Symphony, which plays most of its concerts at Boettcher Concert Hall in Denver, Colorado.
