Colonial High School

Colonial High School is a high school located in Orlando, Florida. The school's principal is Paul Van Mitchell. As of August, 2006 the school serves 3,751 students in grades 9 through 12, making it one of the largest schools in Florida. The school's demographics are 60% hispanic, 26% white, 11% black and 3% Asian. The remaining percentage are made up of American Indian and students of multiracial backrounds.

The school's athletic teams are known as the Grenadiers. They have one of the state's best athletic traditions, having won 29 Metro Championsips.

Colonial's preforming arts department is widely considered one of the best in the state of Florida. The Marching Grenadiers, or the band, has earned many awards and recognitions over the years, and is directed by Marianne Flanagan. There has also been an increase of intrest in the chorus and drama departments as well, with the CHS drama department earning recognition for their 2006 production of Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire.[citation needed]
