College of Engineering Adoor

The College of Engineering, Adoor is a college in Adoor, Kerala, India, located 3 kms from the town centre at Manakkala. It is affiliated to the Cochin University of Science and Technology and is run under the aegis of the Institute of Human Resource Development for Electronics, an institute of the government of Kerala. The college was inaugurated in 1995 by the then Chief Minister of Kerala A K Antony.

The college is recognized by AICTE(All India Council for Technical Education) and has excellent infrastructure facilities. The college offers B.Tech (Bachelor of Technology) degrees in three streams. The number of students intake per year in the respective streams is given in brackets.

  • Electronics and Communication Engineering (120 Students)
  • Computer Enginnering (60 Students)
  • Mechanical Enginnering (60 Students)

[edit] Admission Procedure

The college follows a 50-50 method of admission from both merit and management streams. A significiant amount of students in the management stream is filled by children of NRI Malayalees.

When the college started in 1995, it had a 90-10 breakup of merit and management streams. However, the merit students were also required to pay a refundable deposit (at the end of the course) of One Lakh rupees which was utilized for infrastructure development in the college.

The college is located at a village called Manakkala, which is 3 KM away from Adoor Town. Adoor is a well laid-out town having all the modern facilities. You can reach Adoor by bus from anywhere in Kerala. The nearest railway station is Chengannur and the nearest airpot is Cochin.
