He has a sister Elizabeth (born 1982) and two half-brothers, Chester (born 1990) and Truman (born 1995) from his father's second marriage to actress Rita Wilson. He has also appeared in the Science Fiction television series Roswell and the HBO series Band of Brothers as Lt. Henry Jones.
Hanks had a big supporting role in the 2005 remake of King Kong, playing the assistant to Jack Black's character, a determined film director; Hanks and Black previously played siblings in Orange County.
In 2006 Hanks further solidified his association with Black in Tenacious D in: The Pick of Destiny although he played only a cameo as a drunk frat guy.
