Colin Graham

Colin Graham (born 1931) is an internationally known stage director of opera, theater, and television. He is currently Artistic Director for Opera Theatre of Saint Louis since 1985, having been Director of Productions from 1978-1985. He has directed more than 50 world premieres of operas.

Graham was born in Hove, England. Early in his career, Graham began a long association with Benjamin Britten, for whom he directed all but one of the composer's stage works. More recently, he has directed the world premieres of John Corigliano's opera The Ghosts of Versailles for the Metropolitan Opera, The Dangerous Liaisons and Andre Previn's A Streetcar Named Desire for San Francisco Opera, The Song of Majnun for Lyric Opera of Chicago, and a series of three operas by Miki Minoru, as well as continuing his association with Richard Gaddes, began in St. Louis, with works directed for the Santa Fe Opera.
