Coleg Gwent

Coleg Gwent (Gwent College) is Wales' largest further education college. It has more than 35,000 students ranging from school leavers to mature students. A wide range of part time and full time academic and vocational courses are on offer at the college.

The college operates from six campuses – City of Newport, Crosskeys, Ebbw Vale, Pontypool, Usk and The Hill Education & Conference Centre at Abergavenny. The college’s main headquarters are at Usk Campus. There are also two 'Learn-IT' centres, based in Monmouth and Cwmbran. These offer flexible, drop in courses on a range of IT subjects as well as marketing, maths and English.

The college works in collaboration with the five local authorities in South East Wales to provide an extensive curriculum designed to meet the needs of learners of all ages.

Coleg Gwent has a range of learner services to help support students. These include a well-stocked library and extensive computer and information resources, a Students' Union and nursery facilities (at Ebbw Vale Campus).

Coleg Gwent has a long record of working with Industry, both in the development of its vocational courses, and in offering tailor-made courses to businesses.

The college also has a range of vocational training facilities. These include a training restaurant at Crosskeys Campus and Hair and Beauty Salons at Crosskeys (virtual tour available), Ebbw Vale, Newport and Pontypool. There are also well-equipped workshops for students studying Engineering and Construction.

In addition, Usk Campus offers agricultural courses and has a working Farm (virtual tour available) , Equestrian Centre and Animal Care Centre on its premises.
