Cold snap
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Cold snap is used in two ways to describe climate:
- A cold snap is a geological term for a period of intensely cold and dry weather, often occurring during an Ice Age.
- A cold snap may also refer to an unseasonally cold period in spring. This may also be called a blackberry winter as it may coincide with the time when the blackberries bloom. A cold snap in spring may also be called a dogwood winter.
Other uses of the phrase include:
- Cold Snap was the name of the first full-length album released by the Canadian band Weeping Tile.
- Coldsnap is also the name of an expansion set for the trading card game Magic: The Gathering.
