Cold War Kids are an indie rock band from Fullerton, California, USA. They have released three EPs via Monarchy Music, and they appeared at the 2006 SXSW music festival and the 2006 Lollapalooza music festival. In 2006 they signed to Downtown Records.

The members of the band include Matt Aviero, Matt Maust, Jonnie Russell and Nathan Willett.
Lollapalooza described their sound as, "...clappy, clangy and jangly."
In addition to the aformentioned three EPs, in early 2006 the Cold War Kids released Robbers and Cowards. The album has been received well critically despite an initially lukewarm review from indie website Pitchfork Media.
